The Museum and Gallery of Pojizeří in Semily

The Museum and Gallery of Pojizeří in Semily documents the region of Horní Pojizeří and is focused on ethnography, humanitarian and artistic sphere.

Unconventionally organized ethnographical exposition placed in the attic is created by painted furniture, objects from households of Podkrkonoší, town and village clothes from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, folk Nativity scenes, puppets by Maizner and Dolenský, relics of the Giant Mountains craftsmen, and other interests. The exposition is continuously supplemented with newly gained exhibits. The memorial Celebrities of the Semily Region is a part of the Museum; it represents forty-five celebrities linked to the town and its surroundings.
The Museum expositions are open to the public all year round daily from 9 to 12 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m. except for Monday. During July and August the Museum is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Christmas and Easter trade with offer of traditional tiny folk products and objects linked to these holidays has become an integral part of the Museum activities. A unique mission for given area is represented by the activities of the Gallery. Historic and fine art exhibitions take place all year round in the ground floor of the historic building and in the Gallery of Pojizeří. www.muzeumsemily.cz
